If you love baseball this is a pretty amazing view. We got a corner room on the third floor that looks into the ballpark and not too noisy. We were able to walk to the baseball game within a couple minutes of the hotel. As you can imagine things get a bit more crowded over a holiday weekend, my boyfriend found this hotel last minute through hotwire as the best deal and great quality hotel near gaslamp. I stayed here three nights on memorial day weekend (Thursday-Sunday) and it was a really nice experience. Its also a great hotel away from the typical convention hotels, its a boutique hotel which I like too ! Also, they are a VERY pet and dog friendly hotel with dog treats in the lobby, I put that here because sometimes that can be positive or negative (if your next to a room with a barking dog !) Overall, if you can get a good price I think this hotel is way worth the cost. Sometimes they key system can get a little tricky. 3) Sometimes the elevator requires a key to go up to your rooms. Think this needs to be looked into so those of us in a hurry can jet out. 2) Although service usually great, I needed to check-out quickly and there's no express check-out. Or if your cheap like me, I park it on the street somewhere in Mission Valley and take the trolly in (there's a trolly stop two blocks from the hotel). My advice is to either skip the car if you are just saying downtown. They have the best ginger mule drinks ! Grab a drink sit my the fire and you can totally see into PETCO (its a distance, but still a fun time! 5) Business center has free printing, a huge plus ! What I don't like: 1) There's only valet parking (not self-parking) at a back-breaking $40/night (yikes). Louis is SUCH a great bartender that I will come back to this bar whether I'm staying here or not. 3) Staff are super friendly and accommodating 4) The bar on the roof, I swear, is the best kept secret. this is despite me booking this hotel with a 3rd party site (sometimes if you book through those sites you tend to get the least desirable rooms). 2) Rooms are very spacious (at least for two people), modern and clean - I've never had a problem. 5th Avenue with all the restaurants is only about a five minute walk. I find it an easy walk to the convention center, down the street to PETCO and with some of my favorite lounges and bars nearby. What I like: 1) This hotel is close to the gaslamp, but not too close that it is too loud. Out of all of these, I find Hotel Indigo downtown my favorite hotel. I'm not a huge fan of the IHG (I'm usually a Starwood person) but this hotel is definitely exception. Located minutes away from the World-Famous San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Balboa Park and Museums, Coronado, and Old Town.Just a little about me, I'm a SD homeowner and a past SD residents for several years that currently lives out of the area, but I return frequently to the area and have stayed in various hotels in the area.
